Nicotiana x hybrida Starlight Dancer

This is a new colour for this N.langsdorffii type. Pretty, white flowers that dance daintily in the breeze borne on tall, slender stems on neat compact plants.

Sow indoors. Sow thinly into moist well-drained seed compost, cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Keep moist. Propagate 18-22°C. Do not exclude light. Germination takes 10-15 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing.

Cut and come again variety. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed.

•  Seeds germinate in 7-21 days.
•  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and transplant 2 weeks after last frost has passed.
•  Gardeners in long- season areas can direct sow 2 weeks after last frost.
•  Surface sow seeds and gently press into soil, as light aids germination.
•  Ideal germination temperature is 21-23 C.
