Argemone platyceras, also known as Prickly Poppy, produces large, saucer-shaped pure white flowers and has bluish green foliage. An amazing annual for white borders The 10 cm / 4 in. large pure white satin flowers with dark red stamens carrying golden anthers, invite you for a closer look. Bees love the large single flowers: in dozens they visit the open flowers.

This plant is highly drought tolerant and perfect for xeriscaping or water-wise design. It is also well-suited for natural landscaping and requires low maintenance. In suitable locations, this plant may moderately self-sow. Overall, Argemone platyceras is a relatively easy plant to grow.

Germination

Sow directly from April. Surface sow onto prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Germination takes 3-4 weeks at 15°C. Easy to grow.
